All in all, this is a very usable tool still and looks good enough to display as well for collectors. There's a co2 kit by innovations that is specifically designed to fit in tight spaces, ala zipp disc. I picked one up about 1.5 years ago, thankfully haven't had to use it in a race, but I did try it out and it worked, and fit, just fine. Another thing I've done to solve the 3 hand problem is to get a 2 or 3' piece of 1/2' dia wooden dowel and cut it in half to make a half circle shape. You can then put this behind your crack pipe, between the flat brass surface and the rounded surface of the opening in the disc. After you get a few pounds of pressure in there, it serves to self lock. I've used this with both conti and vittoria tires, it's definately easier on the vittorias because the valve stem is a little shorter. Jonathan Blyer, ACME Bicycle Co., Brooklyn, NY Guru Cycling, Wilton CT. First off I think you need a good pump. Some of the high flow pumps are too hard to pump with one hand/arm. I use a 17 year old Silca. Its been rebuilt 3 times. Its an excellent pump and is by far the best.period! It'll take about 35 pumps to get to 160lbs With the valve at the top, I use my left hand reaching from the top of the wheel to the valve/pump head. I stand straight over the top of the pump (I have a 37' inseam). While holding the pumphead on the valve with my left hand, I can keep a straight right arm and use my body weight, straight up and down, bending at the knees, to work the pump. I can pump tires well above 160. Done.no need to ask for a third hand..
